How to install plastic ground stabilization grids?
Installing plastic ground stabilization grids involves 5 steps: excavate 100-200mm depth, compact sub-base, lay geotextile fabric, place and expand LONGXIANG grids, fill with gravel or soil or turf, and compact final surface. A 100m2 area can be installed by 2 workers in 1 day.
Step-by-Step Installation
Excavate to required depth (100mm for pedestrian, 150-200mm for vehicles). Slope 1-2 percent for drainage. Remove all vegetation.
Add 50-100mm of compacted aggregate base. Compact to 95 percent Proctor density. LONGXIANG recommends MOT Type 1 or equivalent.
Lay non-woven geotextile over sub-base. Overlap joints by 300mm. Prevents fine soil migration into the grid system.
Place LONGXIANG grids and expand fully. Interlock adjacent panels using the integrated connector system. Stagger joints like brickwork.
For grass: topsoil with 70 percent sand. For gravel: 10-20mm angular gravel. Fill 5-10mm above top surface and compact.
LONGXIANG Installation Project
A UK landscape contractor installed 2,000m2 of permeable parking for a retail center using LONGXIANG Premium grids. The team of 6 completed the project in 9 days. Traditional concrete paving would have taken 6+ weeks and cost 3x more.
